Should Joseph Gordon-Levitt Replace Heath Ledger As The Joker?
Like I mentioned earlier, I watched Brick recently. I often mock cast actors for roles in my spec scripts, and while watching Brick I saw Joseph Gordon-Levitt become my story’s protagonist. Tell me he doesn’t? He’s his spitting effing image! And for anybody who doubts his acting chops, just go watch Brick, The Lookout and Mysterious Skin. That being said, if Christopher Nolan, David Goyer and Co. wanted to bring back the Joker to face Batman again in The Dark Knight Returns (or whatever), I think they could do it with JGL. Would he have to fill some whopping fucking shoes? You bet. But if there is one young actor who looks like Heath and has his potential, its JGL. Remember, we once all doubted Heath’s ability to pull off the Joker.

Man this shit is crazy, right when the dark knight was over I turned to my girlfriend and said,”you know who I think would be a good replacement for the joker, that kid from angels in the outfield.” so I would have to agree with you man, he would look like him and there is no doubt in my mind that he would be able to pull that crazyass clown character off just like heath did. I dont think that the joker part should be all that big, or that he should have alot of scenes, but if they wanted to bring him back they should definatly get joseph to play it. hes the only person I can think of that would look like heath in the makeup. i even think that they made a mistake getting johnny depp, jude law, and collin farrell, to pick up where heath left of in the imaginarium of doctor parnassus, they should have gotten joseph for that as well.
That’s a great call on Doctor Parnassus, but I actually think it could be cool. Never know with Gilliam.
I definitely agree that they could at least close out the Joker character by using JGL. Maybe having him locked up in Arkham Asylum or even killed. I don’t think we are the only two who think this either, as I see quite a bit of searches for it under my analytics. Hopefully, WB and the Nolan crew will have the same thought.

one question has been bugging me for like ever now: is he really gay? otherwise his acting is amazing because those gay movies he acted in were sooo effing convincing.
